SubD Curve Seam

Mesh vs. Brep construction derived from Sub-D pipe

Mesh vs. Brep render derived from Sub-D pipe

From a hexagonal array, a random curve seam is chosen.

This seam is removed from the hexagon and the five remaining vertices are connected to the cell centroid.

The SubD Multipipe function is used to construct a tubular array of figures, smoothly connected at the joints.

The Sasquatch Plug-In is used to trim the SubD figures, which are then converted into Breps.

When comparing the brep construction and render to the equivalent mesh, one may see a smooth geometry without visible facets.
