PACKED CIRCLES

Packed circles

Random irregular curves

Breps formed

Surface construction (bi-arc, rail revolve)

Tri-remesh

A random collection of circles is contained in a region.

Kangaroo 2 is used to iteratively solve for the condition where the circles are drawn together, collide, and then repel each other.

As the forces balance, the circles pack into a tight array.

The circles are made into irregular, closed figures.

A bi-arc is drawn from the point of maximum curvature farthest from the center.

The height of the raised point is proportional to the figure area (larger figures tend to be taller).

Rail Revolve forms the surface as the bi-arc revolves around the irregular figure.
