Dual Frequency Surfaces

PIXEL METHOD

Surfaces have figures of various spacing.

Matte finish texture files are easily generated by adding noise to a 50% gray pixel file, then re-rastering at a higher resolution.

By using two different base dpi numbers, re-rastered to the same higher resolution, then blending these files together, you can create a dual-frequency texture.

96 dpi noise re-rastered to 1270 dpi

96 dpi and 273 dpi re-rastered to 1270 dpi

The high and low frequency files, each at 1270 dpi, are re-leveled to 50% then combined to create a dual frequency surface
